Germany Trip

Part of our team are heading off to Kiel  in Germany this weekend to move a customer back to Southampton. They are all  looking forward to the drive through France, Belgium, Holland and on into Germany all very freely while we are still in the EU.
The youngest of the 4, Lee has not done this type of trip before and has been busy shopping for the trip. They are travelling from Dover to Dunkirk so we are hoping that  Storm Doris will have almost blown out by then and will not disturb their journey and we wish them all a safe journey back home.

Exeter V Plymouth Argyle

This week Gary’s mate “Archie” was over visiting from Australia. It is his first trip to England and Gray decided to take him to see a football match.
this started with a ‘Full English breakfast’ at Trago Mills at Newton Abbott.

They then continued on to Plymouth where Gary showed Archie the Barbican and Plymouth Ho before they arrived at the stadium. They were lucky enough to have got superb seats right at the front behind the goal.

Unfortunately Plymouth won 3-0 scoring 2 in the first half and another in the 2nd half. There were many sad faces on Exeter fans faces but all in all it was a very good match and Archie was overwhelmed by the atmosphere.

Dartmoor Walks

I thought that this week it would be nice to feature some Dartmoor walks as something a little different.
I actually did this walk myself last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I stopped and ate my lunch on the top of Middleworth Tor with a beautiful view over to Burrator reservoir. It was a beautiful day and the walk was extremely interesting with some of the scenes from the movie War Horse easily identifiable.

We drove across the moor through Princetown and on toward Yelverton. We parked at Norsworthy Bridge and headed towards Middleworth Tor on our way to Down Tor.

Please give it a go and let us know how you get on. image1

Weather for the weekend.

The coming weekend’s weather will maintain predominantly unsettled conditions that have dominated the weather, overall, this working week. However, it will become colder as a change in wind direction signals nearer average temperatures, overnight frost and perhaps a little sleet and snow within the short term too.

Temperatures on Thursday reached a high of 14C at Rhyl and with 13C being recorded at a number of other stations too. These are well above average temperatures for early February. It is a chilly start this morning, though, but attention through Friday is on the arrival of an area of low pressure from the south-west that will bring rain and strong winds to parts of the UK, along with perhaps some sleet and wet snow too. The precipitation associated with this low pressure is clearly evident moving into SW England on recent rainfall radar imagery whilst showery conditions are in evidence further north and west.
